EXPLORE GENRES

Tiny Twirls
Ages 18 Months – 3 years

A 30 minute class where little dancers and their parent/caregiver can explore movement, improve coordination, balance, flexibility, create fearlessness and improve confidence. Parents can enjoy joining their little dancer taking their first dance steps and work with them to explore the world of dance.

Fairies and Elves
Ages 2.5-5 years

Catering for pre-school aged students, our Fairies and Elves are guided into the world of dance, learning the fundamentals of ballet. Dancers work upon co-ordination, balance and flexibility and within dance play exercises are guided through movements to build a wonderful dance foundation to build upon.

Ballet

Ages 5+
Ballet classes are based around the Royal Academy of Dance Syllabus and progressions. Working upon balance and symmetry, including graceful flowing movements and movement of speed energy and attack. Dancers work with turn out of legs and higher levels work toward pointe work.

Boys Class

Ages 8+
Each dancer is unique and movements for Male Dancers require specific strength and training. The Boys class provides a training opportunity for male dancers to work upon specific exercises to increase strength, flexibility and improve coordination tailored to aid male dance steps and their progression. The male dancer learns differently and within this environment male dancers of all ages can feel comfortable and are encouraged to achieve their best.

Contemporary/Lyrical
Ages 8+

Contemporary dance classes blend techniques from various dance styles including ballet, jazz, modern and lyrical. The style isn’t restricted by rules that govern traditional dance styles. It relies on improvisation and versatility and is characterised by freedom of movement and fluidity. Dancers enjoy working on many level including floorwork.

Jazz
Ages 6+

From Broadway Classics to Commercial Dance, Jazz class is a fun dance class that can increase fitness and flexibility. Get moving with turns, kicks, leaps and more! Dancers learn combinations that will increase coordination and balance, exploring different beats and expressions.

Tap
Ages 8+

Varying in style our tap class works upon rhythm, coordination and balance. Exploring timing and music which allow dancers to understand different tempos and how to accompany steps to them.

Acrobatic Dance
Ages 8+

Tumble into acro with rolls, flips, headstands and more. Following the Acrobatic Arts Syllabus, classes develop strength, flexibility, balance, limbering, and tumbling skills. Unlike in the schoolyard, new skills are taught with safety in mind, encouraging injury prevention by focussing on technique and skill progressions. Each student works to their own ability and goals to ensure they have the appropriate foundations in place as skill progressions get harder.

Open Class
Ages 12+

Open class provides dancers a class to build upon their vocabulary and work upon steps from a variety of levels. Each class providing new step combinations and allowing dancers to enjoy interpreting new combinations and music. Great for developing artistry and also step knowledge.

Pointe Technique

Ages 11+
Pointe classes are separated into three levels:

Inter Fdn / Intermediate Pointe working on the foundations of pointe and developing dancers strength, technique and confidence

Open Pointe caters to all levels including advanced, working upon strength and technique and provides options for all dancers to extend themselves when ready.

Adult Pointe Class works upon the foundations of pointe work, developing strength and confidence- open to dancers with or without pointe shoes and provides opportunity to train toward pointe shoes attained strength and alignment shown.

Conditioning
Ages 8+

Strength and flexibility are worked upon with our conditioning classes- techniques from Progressing Ballet Techniques, Pilates and fitness training combine and provide a wonderful platform to extend all dancers on their journey.

Barre Class
Ages 18+

A 45 minute class bases around ballet barre techniques, pilates and fitness exercises. This class is a great work out and will improve not only fitness level but overall strength and flexibility – a full body work out.

Private Lessons

Ages 7+
For dancers wanting to extend their technique or learn a new skill, or for dancers who prefer learning in a one- on – one setting private lessons are available to be booked by appointment – ½ hour or 1 hour sessions are available.

Discovering Repertoire

Ages 12+
Level 2,3,4 Discovering Repertoire features Class work and Variations, within these classes dancers work upon technique based upon ballets. Learning about Swan Lake, Sleeping Beauty and Paquita whilst exploring barre and centre work.

PRE-SCHOOL

Ages 18 months-6 years

Emphasising coordination development, rhythm and body awareness classes for this age are based around classical ballet technique. Classes feature imaginative and age-appropriate activities in a welcoming and nurturing environment. Dancers participate with a parent/ carer in Tiny Twirls but are independent learners for all other levels.

JUNIOR SCHOOL

Ages 6-10 years

Dancers within our junior level are welcome to explore more styles – Ballet, Jazz, Tap, Acro and Contemporary. Whilst encouraging creativity and expression we begin to guide dancers along technical progression pathways and encourage them to focus upon their skills development and how to use and control their movement. All within a fun, nurturing environment catering for all types of learners.

MIDDLE SCHOOL

Ages 9-13 years

At this age dancers are able to explore all style of dance and have the maturity to understand the required technical difference for each. All classes are based upon classical ballet level progressions however levels of other dance styles can be moved upon dancers’ progressions. The primary focus of this level is developing technique, musicality, proper placement, strength and poise- along with making wonderful friendships and having lots of fun!

SENIOR SCHOOL

Ages 12+ years

Our senior program focuses upon artistic integrity, performance quality, commitment and technical excellence. Dancers are welcome to take part in our recreational program or our examination stream and are nurtured and guided by our highly trained staff to extend their dancing skills. Styles offered in ballet, jazz, tap, contemporary, acrobatics, stretch, conditioning, pointe.

ADULT PROGRAM

Ages 18+ years

Classes are available to all abilities- new to dance or returning and the studio offers a wide range of levels. Adult dance classes offering a chance for all to enjoy the physical and aesthetic benefits of dance in a recreational atmosphere. Improving muscle tone, flexibility and coordination as well as a wonderful escape for the mind and art for the soul.

SILVER SWANS PROGRAM

Ages 55+ years

Specially designed classes for the older learners, silver swans classes will help improve mobility, posture, coordination and energy levels. Classes are able to be adapted to suit the individual and offer recreation and performance options.
